Happy Halloween!

If I ever start thinking about selling our house and moving out of our neighborhood, I need to make myself a rule: wait until after Halloween before making a decision. Because absolutely nothing gives me a warm fuzzy like seeing how our neighborhood does Halloween.

On Sunday, I managed to convince Clementine that she didn't really want to be Belle for Halloween. What she REALLY wanted to be was a firefighter (read between the lines: we had an old firefighter costume of Gabriel's and it was WAY warmer than the Belle costume she'd picked out). It's scary how long I've been blogging: here's the post from when the costume originally debuted.

But in typical girly-girl fashion, you can see a bit of princess tulle poking out from underneath her jacket. Women these days, juggling so many competing identities, ya know? Wife, mother, firefighter, princess. Luckily, underneath the Ironman costume's giant muscles, we were able to stuff plenty o' layers.

It wasn't miserably cold but it did start to rain almost as soon as we began trick-or-treating. Bummer.

The kiddos put up with the rain for longer than I would have but eventually we retreated to our front porch to concentrate on candy distribution and red wine intake.

Hope everyone had a fabulous Halloween!
